I’ve been working on a hobby project to track privacy policies during my weekends for a while now and I’m beginning to get some results.
I know it’s a dry topic and that not everyone is concerned about privacy… but for those that are concerned, then you understand that we’ve entered an era where anything is possible. In one week you can find yourself privately reading a very useful online network that allows subject matter experts to answer questions, and in the next… without warning, you could find that the site is exposing your reading interests to anyone.
Wouldn’t it be nice to know precisely what a Privacy Policy stated before and after these “without warning” changes?
I’m currently tracking over 200 policies, I’ve written software to grab the policies daily and archive them for analysis. Here’s a sample set from a Cloud vertical.
